do tooth fairies take account of inflation?

I managed to get an emergency appointment with my dentist. She gave me an x-ray and a temporary filling and I have to go back next week to have a crown made.

I was relieved that I wouldn't have to have the tooth extracted and then almost had a heart attack when she told me how much it was going to cost. £194 - and that is the NHS price.

Mind you, I'll be able to knock 50p off that when the tooth fairy visits me tonight. Little cousin got £1 for his tooth last week (in my day it was 10p!) so I reckon I should get half that for my half a tooth.
